Article

Hi everyone I just wanted to post a short heads-up about the recent event regarding malware labels in search results. I’m glad to say that this seems to have been cleared up — however, you might still see remains of it in your Webmaster Tools account. Some accounts have the following text in them: This site may be distributing malware. Google users will see a warning page when they attempt to visit pages within this site. You can visit the Google Safe Browsing diagnostic page for your site for detailed information about the problems we found. If you see this text in your Webmaster Tools account, please follow the steps below: 1.... read more >>

Do i really need a dive computer?

Article

Often a question from newcomers to Scuba diving, we at Subaquamundo hear it quite often, the first thing the new diver needs to realise is are they going to get the use from it that makes the initial investment worthwhile?. Reasons for not having a Dive Computer. Only diving on holiday will probably restrict a newly certified diver to 5 or 6 dives per year is a 600euro investment worth it?. Our suggestion would be no its not. We would suggest that in the case of a “holiday diver” probably the best bet would be to just buy a normal dive watch, something like a Luminox at less than half the price of a dive computer (and the plus point... read more >>

Water Water Everywhere…

Article

… but not a drop to drink! Be warned.. even though us aquanauts are surrounded by water it does not change the fact that we need to drink before, in between and after our dives. Being properly hydrated helps you to think and act properly which as we all know is very important when diving. Water is essential to the bodies needs to transport blood and Oxygen around the body as well as keeping our bodies on a chemical balance. Why the need to keep up water intake when diving? Pretty simple answer really, the air that you breathe from your Scuba unit has been compressed, during the compression process large amounts of water (humidity) is removed... read more >>

Considering Becoming A Diver.

Article

Equipment considerations. When you begin your life as a Scuba diver you will soon become aware that your new found past-time is dependent on technical pieces of equipment and developments in science and human physiology which go hand in hand to ensure the safety of you and your dive buddy and also and your enjoyment of the underwater world. The first thing that you will be thinking is breathing, this is done by the use of compressed air in either steel or aluminium tanks (often called cylinders or bottles), these in turn are attached to regulators which deliver the air to your mouth (no breathing through the nose so this can be a pretty wierd... read more >>

Where to go when not diving.

Article

If you are over here on holiday with the family then there is a strong possibility that getting in as many as 12-15 dives in a week is not going to go down too well with the spouse and the kids etc… listed here are a few other things for the non divers to do or maybe yourself if you fancy a bit of a surface interval. One thing we would recommend if only for the view is to take a trip up to the Castillitos battery high on the cliffs between La Azohia and Cabo Tinoso, here are two huge 38.1 Vickers guns with a range of 20 miles and also several smaller guns which point out towards Cartagena built in the early part of the 20th century as part... read more >>
